Little Einsteins
(This happened a couple of months ago. I meant to blog about it and forgot, but something recently ressurected it from the formless, black abyss that is my memory these days. So glad it didn't disappear forever!)

I had both boys at the pediatrician's office. Griffin and I were admiring the Wonders of the World wallpaper in the waiting room. I began identifying some of the locations for him: "This is the Parthenon," "That's the Coliseum," etc.

Completely unprompted, Griffin pointed at the Egyptian panel and yelled: "The Great Stink!"

The nurses and office workers behind the counter started laughing their heads off.

Just in case you're thinking my son is a genius, Little Einsteins does a whole episode where the kids help the Great Sphinx retrieve a magic dream that was stolen -- or something like that. (And yes, for you non-parents out there, all descriptions of children's TV shows do sound like bad acid trips.)

However, if you're looking for reason to think Griffin is a genius, I will announce that he has memorized our 50 States puzzle. Not only can he put the whole thing together on his own, he can also name all the states by shape and find them by name with almost no errors. His most common errors are: confusing "Iowa" and "Idaho" or "Nebraska" and "Alaska," or calling it "Momtana."

On the Tristan-front, our youngest now has seven teeth.

My Little Zoolander
I noticed Tristan has a curious idiosyncrasy: he can't (or won't) role over to his left side.

Even if I put something he really wants to his left side, he will roll over to the right and pivot.

I guess we'll have to work on Magnum.

Medicine Man
Now that Tristan is nearly nine months old (!), I think it is way past time to share his charming personality with a larger audience.
